Crazy Week Happenings

February 2, 2017

This week I wanted to just share a little bit of the crazy busy week we’ve had at the Dauzat household.

Sick Kids

So, last Wednesday the 3 boys all started with a cough and runny noses. Dustin had been planning a guys trip to San Antonio for this past weekend, so we decided to go ahead and take all the boys to the doctor before he left. That was a bad idea. We took this picture when we got there and everyone was fine, for like 5 minutes, HA!

Pictures can be deceiving! When they called all of us back everyone was getting hungry and grouchy. Dustin was trying to help the nurse weigh Owen who of course didn’t want to be weighed, Andrew took off down the hallway, and Luke was trying to go out the door back into the waiting room. It was a mad house! It just went downhill after that when all 5 of us were in the small room waiting to be seen by the doctor. One kid was trying to stand on the chair, the other was whining and wanted to be held, and Owen was trying to open the hazardous garbage can and then trying to lick the drain on the floor…yep that’s right… so gross. We are not doing that again. not really sure what we were thinking bringing 3 boys 2 and under somewhere…together. Can you tell we don’t get out much?

Anyway, after lots of tears, everyone got examined and the RSV test came back positive on the twins. That sucked. I left out of their with 7 prescriptions, I needed to get the boys home fed and for them to take their nap. Dustin put all the boys into the car for me and headed back to work. It was 11:30 and I were so drained and overwhelmed. I had 3 kids to take home and I felt the tears coming. I still had to go fill the prescriptions at the Pharmacy so I stopped the tears from coming because I didn’t want to pull up with a car full of kids at the pharmacy with bloodshot eyes from crying.

Luke wanted to help with breathing treatments!

Elise had RSV when she was 6 months old and it was not fun at all. She didn’t have to be hospitalized or anything, but it was miserable. Thankfully we must have caught the RSV in the twins pretty early because it wasn’t nearly as bad as Elise’s was. Luke still had a cold, but thankfully wasn’t as bad as the twins. I used to love the wintertime, now I’m not a fan since my kids always get sick.

New Furniture

Dustin and I went to Baton Rouge a couple of weeks ago for my friend’s wedding. Dustin brought up the idea to redo Luke’s room for his birthday since he was turning 3. He’s had Elise’s hand me down furniture since he was born and currently has flower wallpaper in his room. When we moved into this house last year the twins were 3 weeks old, so everyone went to a room and we did absolutely nothing to the house. Now, with everyone being older, we I’m finally ready to start updating things in the house and making it our own. We wanted to go to a couple of furniture stores to look for a new bedroom set for Luke. We sold our end tables in our garage sale and have been looking for some and haven’t been able to find any. We also discussed that we would need to purchase a new kitchen table as well. We went to Rooms to Go and didn’t really see anything that jumped out at us. Their furniture was also kind of expensive. We went to Home Furniture and we hit the jackpot! We found a great bedroom set for Luke at a reasonable price. Finally found end tables that we big enough and was the style that we had spoken about. And of course, found a great kitchen table since the twins are outgrowing their high chairs and our round table was too small for all six of us.

Happy boy + flower wallpaper! Not pictured: dresser

We’ve searched for the last year and finally found some end tables!

Table seats 8! 2 chairs are not pictured.

Dustin was able to pick up the furniture Friday night and put everything together all day Saturday.  He left for his trip Sunday morning. I had all the kiddos by myself and compared to last time it wasn’t as stressful, even though everyone was sick. I think I was more relaxed because I was preparing myself for the worst, but we all came out alive! Well, sort of!

Owen wanting to go upstairs.
