How to Overcome the Morning Blues by Doing This Chore

October 26, 2016

how-to-overcome-the-morning-blues-by-doing-this-chore

Have you ever had that feeling when you wake up in the morning and you just automatically know you’re going to have a bad day? You feel the stress creeping in and you can already feel the tension in your shoulders. This was totally me. Especially, on the weekends when we are home all day.

In a household with 6 people + 2 dogs, our house can get a little so chaotic and messy. Many parents know that when you have any kids in the household the kids seem to destroy it in half the time it takes you to pick up. It really does feel like a losing battle.

There is one chore that we do every single night to make the next day get off without a hitch and run more smoothly.

Cleaning the kitchen

Were you like us and left dishes in the sink overnight? If so, let me tell you there is nothing more frustrating than waking up on Saturday morning to make the family breakfast and there are last night’s dishes in the sink. There are two types of people:CONTINUE READING

Who’s the Most Important Person to Believe in Your Dreams?

October 19, 2016

whos-the-most-important-person-to-believe-in-your-dreamsWe all know that the when we get an idea, goal, or dream for ourselves it’s so exciting! Whether you decided you’ve had enough and you’re going to work out, or if you set a goal f
or yourself personally or professionally we want to shout it from the rooftops.

When we tell others of our dreams we subconsciously are looking for hints on how they feel about it. Most of the time we can read their facial expressions, posture, and even their tone of voice to see how they really feel about what we’ve just told them.

I know from personal experience that many times people aren’t as “excited” as we are about our dreams or they just flat out tell us,

“Seriously? There is no way.”

“Why don’t you think of something more realistic.”

“Don’t even waste your time.”

The most important person to believe in your dreams is YOU!

When you are pumped and ready to dive into accomplishing your dream it really sucks when others don’t support you. It even weighs down on you and makes you start to second guess yourself.. “Maybe they are right. Maybe I cannot do it.”CONTINUE READING

The First Look

October 12, 2016

the-first-look

This week I wanted to share something from our wedding. Dustin and I have been married for almost 6 years. One of the things I loved most about our wedding was the photography, more specifically that we opted to do the “First Look” with our photographer. If you aren’t familiar with the “First Look”, it is when the bride and groom see each other before the wedding.

Our photographer, Catherine Guidry, was absolutely amazing and when I brought up the idea she was so excited that we wanted to do this.

Here are 3 reasons why we decided to do the first look:

Not Superstitious

When I first heard about “The First Look” I looked up why couples normally don’t see each other before the wedding. This is what I found on BridalGuide.com:

During the time when arranged marriages were custom, the betrothed couple wasn’t allowed to see each other before the wedding at all. The wedding symbolized a business deal between two families (romantic, huh?), and a father would have been pleased for his daughter to marry a man from a rich, land-owning family. But he also feared that if the groom met the bride before the wedding and thought she wasn’t attractive, he’d call off the wedding, casting shame onto the bride and her family. Therefore, it became a tradition that the bride and groom were only allowed to meet at the wedding ceremony so that the groom did not have the opportunity to change his mind.

Intimate

We wanted our photographer to capture pictures of “First Look” with just Dustin and I.  We thought it would be so special and intimate for it just to be us when we first saw each other. I’m sure we can all agree that your wedding day goes by so fast and this was such a special time for Dustin and me to spend together. CONTINUE READING
