I originally had the closets and the back yard, but I wanted to focus a little more time on the closets instead of rushing through them so hopefully I will get to the backyard before the end of the challenge.

Ok, so the closets are obviously another problem area because I normally throw stuff in there Read more

Conquer Clutter: The Living Room

I’m so happy you have taken the time to see us conquering clutter in our home! If you are new here is a recap. I decided to challenge our family to purge our home of things. At the end of last year, I wrote a post on our goal to get rid of 1,000 things by 2017. Unfortunately, after Christmas, our house exploded with items and in this post, I go into more detail about our challenge.

To catch up on the rest of the conquering clutter challenge take a look at the rest of the posts!

Week 4: Closets and Outside

Week 5: Bathrooms and Utility Room

Week 6: Guest Room/Office

This week we had the living room. Now, again compared to our last home and many others our living room is very roomy. It technically has the “dining room” area attached, but we use that now as the kids play area. Plus, it has carpet…who has carpet in the dining room anyway?! Well, that’s another story for another day. 🙂

This is the start of the purge that I was a little nervous about. Becuase Read more

Last week, I revealed that I have 6 weeks to conquer clutter in our home! Throughout the 6 weeks, I’ll be selling our more expensive items online, and finish up with the rest of the items by having a garage sale on April 1st. Anything left over after our garage sale is getting donated.

If you are just joining us for this challenge take a look at the following post!

I know for many of us, we spend the majority of the time in our kitchen, and because of this, it’s the catch-all for most of our stuff.

I used Allie Cazazza’s 3 questions to ask myself while going through everything:

Conquering Clutter: 6 Week Challenge to Declutter Home to Become a Less Stressed and Happier Mama

The older I get the more I realize how much room “stuff” takes up in your house, how much money you spend on it, and how much it stresses me out. Constantly having to keep picking up and cleaning up with 4 little ones that can only do so much is tough…and you know what? I’m so over it!!

This has really been on my heart for the last couple of weeks. I found this AMAZING podcast hosted by Read more

Crazy Week Happenings

Crazy Week Happenings

This week I wanted to just share a little bit of the crazy busy week we’ve had at the Dauzat household.

Sick Kids

So, last Wednesday the 3 boys all started with a cough and runny noses. Dustin had been planning a guys trip to San Antonio for this past weekend, so we decided to go ahead and take all the boys to the doctor before he left. That was a bad idea. We took this picture when we got there and everyone was fine, for like 5 minutes, HA!

Pictures can be deceiving! When they called all of us back everyone was getting hungry and grouchy. Dustin was trying to help the nurse weigh Owen who of course didn’t want to be weighed, Andrew took off down the hallway, and Luke was trying to go out the door back into the waiting room. It was a mad house! It just went downhill after that when all 5 of us were in the small room waiting to be seen by the doctor. One kid was Read more

This Tough Season of Life

This Tough Season of Life

One thing that moms with young kids constantly hear is, “Enjoy this time now because it flies by.” Listen, I understand. Many parents that say this to new parents or parents with young kids normally have older kids. And us parents with young kids feel extremely blessed, but this stage of life just plain sucks sometimes.

It hard to enjoy moments when:
